DeKALB - On Sept. 30, Just Make It Happen Productions will
present the first performance of its 2005-2006 performing arts series.
"The Gavin Wilson Show - As Time Goes By," an original narrative musical written
by local resident Gavin Wilson, will pay homage to the classic style of Frank
Sinatra and was inspired by the classic film "Casablanca."
The play features a storyline about a man finding a book of music left behind by
his recently deceased grandfather.
The book is discovered to hold the key to a family secret. Wilson acts as the
narrator through the performance.
In addition, Wilson, who has a degree in music composition, rearranged special
compositions, which he will perform with his father, a professional musician.
The show will also incorporate a jazz trio and a string
quartet. While the story revolves around music, the play will include singing
and dancing.
The Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St., will host this performance at 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 30.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and are on sale at the Hillside
Restaurant, next to the Egyptian Theatre.
All proceeds will be donated to fund the Egyptian Theatre Operations Fund.
For more information, call (815) 758-1093.
